The MUTANT® Kits

The MUTANT® is an innovative new Universal Tool Swapping System that allows you to transform your FDM printer into so much more! The MUTANT® gives you the ability to change your hot end on the fly and easily add other tools such as laser cutters, pen plotters, food plungers, ceramic printers, dial gauges, vinyl cutter, and just about anything you think of, all driven by the machine’s mechatronic components!

In order to mount your hot end or tool to the machine, print out one of our many available hot end mounts from the list below or create your own with our mobile plate mounting template. The list is always growing, check out all our downloads and installation information on the MUTANT® support page.

Attention: Please do not mount this yourself if you don’t already have knowledge and proficiency in working with electrical components. The electrical work is pretty easy, simply inserting wires into connectors, no soldering, no firmware adjustments. If in doubt, please bring it to a certified electrician. Wham Bam Systems is not responsible for any damage this may cause to your machine or equipment, so please use caution when installing and testing.

To mount the MUTANT® to your machine you will need either of these:

  • - Download and print one of the many interface plates available here and use our included heat press inserts to create the 4 threaded mounts for the MUTANT® Fixed Plate. We currently have plates to fit nearly every Creality and Clone machine, BLV Ender 3, Geeetech A10 and A30 series, Open Builds 3 and 4 wheel V slots, and Prusa i3 style machines. More coming soon!
  • - Create your own interface plate, use our template (pdf) or 3D files here, and design the hole positions needed to mount it to your machine, use our included heat press inserts to create the 4 threaded mounts for the MUTANT® Fixed Plate.
  • - Purchase one of our two types of Universal X Gantry Plate Kits. We offer one for Standard V Slot 3 bearing wheel carriages and one for Linear Rail Carriages.

    • The MUTANT® BASE KIT Contains:

  • - 1 Fixed Plate
  • - 1 Mobile Plate
  • - Lots of accessories (list of components here)

    not used mine as needed dual power as two nozzle heaters and this only does one.

    Great addition for my 3d printing

    One of the greatest solution for having multiple tools set’s with quick change. Only would recommend to reposition connectors on mobile plate to face front of the printer. In overall happy client :-)

    Bought it for the intentions of turning this big printer into a multi purpose machine and its exactly what I was looking for! Setups for different filament types, repairs made easy by being able to detach the head and put it on your work desk I love it. 2nd product I bought from Wham bam and nothing but good things to say.
